I know you all are desperately waiting for the results.
We thought it’d be easy to predict the top 5 winners. However, surprisingly, out of the 1073 entries we received, only one user could predict the exact order of the final medals tally at Beijing.

Today, we are glad to announce the only lucky winner of the Instablogs Beijing ‘08 Olympic Contest.

The winner of iPhone 3G is Justin from United States.

Many thanks to those who participated in the contest and Congratulations Justin.

Today somebody asked me a simple question.

What you want from Instablogs? What is Instablogs’ core mission?

A thousand answers came to my mind instantly.

We serve news real fast, covering almost entire planet. Have a very colorful and vibrant community… etc

But then the real answer struck me

Imagine a world without borders.

Imagine a world without wars.

Imagine a world without cultural bindings.

Imagine a world interacting.

Imagine Instablogs.

Yes, this is what we are doing. And I, with the entire team of Instablogs, am proud of it.

And if you have any doubt, I invite you to watch our Daily news video show - Global Report.

I don’t know if you have had the chance to read our corporate blog but Ankit, one of our founders, recently posted about our mission here at Instablogs.

One of our core goals is to highlight critical world issues through the eyes of the people most effected from them.

Now there are many ways we already do that.

We allow anyone to write about anything they feel is important and post it on the site. We let others respond to create a dialog where people can discuss those issues.

We provide a way for you to connect with and track the people who’s opinions you enjoy reading and encourage you become more than just readers of their work but actual friends with them no matter where they are in the world. It allows you to stay informed with the people and issues you care about most.

We know everyone is busy, so we send out a newsletter with the most discussed and most popular stories of the day. So that if you miss a day or two visiting the site you can still see what everyone else is talking about and keep up with what is important to you.

But we still wanted to do more.

When you tell people you work at Instablogs, they want to know more. The questions range from ‘What’s that?’ (if they have never heard of us) to why we made changes, what we’re doing next and what the people are like.

We’re starting a blog so everyone can get a close-up view of what we’re doing every day to make Instablogs happen. We’ll update it regularly, with different people posting about new features or sharing what’s been happening with us. In general, come here to get a better sense of who we are and what we’re up to. It should be interesting.

As a leader (hopefully) in the Citizen Journalism space we also have opinions (viewpoints!) of what’s going on in the new media arena. Expect to read those thoughts here as well.

We consider your feedback an integral, important part of this conversation, so feel free to share your views on how we could make Instablogs more useful and informative to you.

Now the one thing we know about here at Instablogs is, well, blogs. We know that blogs are all about communication with readers. And we get that people want to know who’s giving them that information.

So here’s the deal. When we post something that’s unsigned, it’s just general Instablogs information that we think may be of interest to you. Apply whatever filter you deem appropriate. When something is signed by Ankit or Nadini or another Instablogger, that’s really them talking about something important to them. You’ll likely see lots of both kinds of posts, depending on the subject and who’s around to write about it.
We are fortunate to be an international company with smart, dedicated employees all over the world. Hopefully you’ll hear from a lot of them as well.

Thanks for reading this far, and we hope you enjoy our blog.

We have launched the new version of Instablogs few months ago, and we are overwhelmed by the great response. We are one of the most colorful communities on the internet. You will find people from all corner of the world, from New Zealand to Canada, Chile to Russia.
One of the core focuses of Instablogs is to bring people from different regions, cultures, dialects together on a single platform.

We aim to:

1. Highlight critical world issues through the eyes of the people most effected from them.

2. Increase collaboration and dialogue between people of different nationalities, ideas and cultures.

3. Initiate dialogue between world’s citizens. Understand each other’s issues and encourage them to see themselves as citizens of the world.

This official blog is meant to keep you updated with latest launches, new features, members’ interviews etc. As usual feedback, opinions are welcome.

Welcome to Official Blog of Instablogs.

Everyone has a viewpoint.

But not everyone with a viewpoint can unite with the rest of the world and trigger a revolution. And here Instablogs comes into force. We want you to act as triggers of small revolutions by simply expressing the views you cherish.

Instablogs is all about you. And yeah, don’t get surprised if you find your mirror image in someone from a faraway corner of the planet, whom you’ve never met, expressing concerns about what’s boiling in your street. Can you see the challenge? Face it. If not, you’re free to create as many challenges you want and see how the world reacts.

Instablogs bring people from different regions, cultures, dialects together on a single platform. We aim to highlight critical world issues through the eyes of the people most affected by them.

We’re constantly working hard, with valuable inputs from the whole Instablogs Community, to bring together more and more people. If you want to experience how bloggers, citizen journalists and traditional media come together and work in tandem to discover a whole new world, this is the place.
